The founders of the Transparent World project have accumulated competencies in the development of receiving stations, the use of space images for the state, business and environmental initiatives, as well as in software technologies.

Transparent World is a project of honest and open relations between society and government. We want to see reality and we will start with the openness of the world from space. Satellite images will help solve environmental problems: oil spills, fires, logging, landfills, accidents. We doubt the reliability of the information that is presented to us and want to see the real state of affairs. By watching the watchers, we will open the world to everyone.

The Caspian seal or Caspian seal is the only representative of marine mammals in the Caspian Sea, an endangered species. Since 2020, the Caspian seal has been included in the Red Book of the Russian Federation, and since 2008 it has been on the list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature as “endangered”.

How did the Transparent World project come about? In 1998, Olga and Vladimir Gershenzon presented the idea of Transparent World - a project aimed at democratizing and opening access to space images. The same year, the book “Open Society” by David Brin was published, where he predicts the erosion of privacy due to the development of technology. Despite the daunting prospect of losing privacy, Brin comes to the conclusion of building an equal world based on reverse observation. Such a world is only possible with maximum transparency. In it, society is already observing the observers.

The international startup Transparent World is implementing a non-profit initiative to use space imaging to help save seals in the Caspian Sea. Caspian seals often face danger from oil spills and shipping. To prevent the death of animals, Transparent World constantly monitors their habitats using satellite imagery. Thus, we create conditions for the safe reproduction and preservation of the seal population.
